Supposing that the Postal Service should be 'profitable' is categorically strange. This is a form of collective provisioning that we have been doing since before the Declaration of Independence. Ask yourself why we don't demand 'profitability' of the police or the military.- Further confirmation of something we see every day. Unless you are one of 'the 1%' - or, more strictly speaking, the 5% - you are better off in almost any 'developed' country than you are in the UK or US. ft.com/content/ef2654…
