    The power of social media… Earlier today I took this photo of a flight arriving in #Corfu from #Newcastle Within minutes of the photo being posted, I had a lovely message from the Captain who landed the aircraft asking if I could share the full high-res version with him.

    Amused as the KLM cabin crew member served us tea onboard and pressed the call bell above our heads then mouthed to her colleague at the back galley of the aircraft “They’re British” before her colleague arrived with fresh milk.

    LNER is offering free Standard Class travel for those affected and for anyone whose flight back to the #UK has resulted in them landing at a different airport, or who is travelling on a different date than originally planned, meaning their journey home will involve a trip along

    This week I had planned to meet @redleaderwright for drinks in Manhattan, NYC. Sadly, he’s no longer with us but as we were both due to fly back to London from JFK this evening, I’m raising a glass in his memory. Gone but never forgotten.
