- Eighty years ago today, on 29 November 1941, my German Jewish grandmother Ilse Cohn was shot by a Nazi murder squad in Kaunas, Lithuania. She had been denied asylum in the UK on the grounds that she was 'too old'. She was 41. #RefugeesNeedHelp

- Can't help thinking after the news of the Mike Lynch yacht tragedy of all the other poor souls who have died in the Med over the years when their vessels went down. Not business tycoons, but people fleeing for their lives. Aka fellow human beings.
- V sad to announce the death of my father, Fritz Lustig, at the age of 98. He was one of the last surviving 'secret listeners' in British military intelligence during WW2. An exceptionally long life, exceptionally well led.
- I always try to defend the BBC whenever I can, but I cannot support this adjudication. It is both wrong and immensely damaging.
