Your Chelsea team news for tonight! 🔵- Marcelo Bielsa took over Chile in August 2007, a month after Chile U20s came 3rd in the U20 World Cup. That team formed the core of his side for 4 years. Uruguay U20s just won the World Cup + he coaches his first senior game with Uruguay next week.

- Replying to @rowdenconHe also took over Argentina in 1998, their U20s won the 1997 U20 World Cup. He went on to give 8 of their 18 man squad their first call-ups + capped 9 of the squad overall (Riquelme was capped previously in 1997).
- Replying to @rowdenconObviously, he'd agreed to coach the sides beforehand, + there's a lot of randomness in the U20 WC or any tournament placing. But I suspect a factor in his decision making, was that he'd watched a lot of the U20 SAYC in the January prior to taking both jobs + liked what he'd seen.
- Worries me how prevalent this advice is about a lot of things (youth football, pre-season, cup games). There are no takeaways ≠ takeaways should be contextual. The former is lazy + never applies, the latter applies to absolutely every game you watch, including the elite.Daily reminder: please avoid taking any hints on performance or quality from pre-season matches. They do not give an accurate view at all of how good or bad your team/players are.

- 6'9 Freshman Power Forward out of Solihull, Kyle Hudlin. Loads of questions still to answer, amazing he's capable of playing any consistent minutes at this size. Have to wonder if opponents (especially keepers) will continue to underestimate his speed in his 2nd season.
