A good morning for reading suggestions to help process fury. Because I wrote it, I’ll start with my book, Good and Mad, about the history & political power of women’s anger, now in paperback (& on sale in hardcover). BUT WAIT THERE’S LOTS MORE:

"Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her" hits from a variety of angles.
"I've got one vote — same as anyone else — and I'm going to use it to move forward. I'm going to vote for Kamala Harris" - Harrison Ford on why he's endorsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

I’m of the opinion that masses of people booing the president on one of the stupidly few occasions he’s ever been forced to interact with them is in fact an extremely valuable moment for our global standing & anyone who cares about America’s reputation should thank that crowd.

Just thinking about the wave of death threats against Anita Hill after her 1991 testimony, and about how Christine Blasey Ford has had to move multiple times and how the safety of their families never seemed to be a top concern for civility enthusiasts.

"What claim will you have? That you rule over a destroyed society? That the ashes belong to you?" @aoc on the nihilism of white supremacist violence.

Passive voice is for when the state does violence. Active voice is for when a protester does? Got it.
Minneapolis: A photographer was shot in the eye. Washington, D.C.: Protesters struck a journalist with his own microphone. Louisville: A reporter was hit by a pepper ball on live television by an officer who appeared to be aiming at her. nyti.ms/2ZYDFtv

In 2010 when Ginni Thomas left a voice mail for Anita Hill saying "I would love you to consider an apology and a full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband" it was exceedingly clear that she was bananas and also extremely bad.

I wrote about the warped framing of @AOC as disruptive, norm-shattering and savvy and how it contrasts with the invisibility of Yoho’s opportunism and ambition:

This is BONKERS. The president elect, instead of aggressively condemning the party working to overthrow his election (the one he still makes noises about working with) is asking an economically paralyzed nation--people who don't have food or housing--for money to help him? GTFOH.
Here's the deal: Because President Trump refuses to concede and is delaying the transition, we have to fund it ourselves and need your help. If you're able, chip in to help fund the Biden-Harris transition. joe.link/2UNbPwc

It’s the first week of October. A year ago this week, the Times broke the Weinstein story. Two years ago this week, the Access Hollywood tape was released. 27 years ago this week, Anita Hill announced she’d be willing to testify. 229 years ago this week, women rioted in Paris.

Amy Coney Barratt’s Rose Garden speech as super-spreader event is just hauntingly on-the-nose on about 15 different levels.

I don't know what's going to happen in Georgia, but fact that it's close is a testament to work @staceyabrams has been doing for years and years. Here she was describing Georgia's path forward to me four years ago:
