Athletics offer a pathway to college that doesnt really exist in countries that have free college. This means an emphasis on sports in k-12. Track and field is one of the lowest cost to take part in sports vs equipment heavy sports like 🏒or🥍.

I know it’s fun to dunk on pros. I get it. But pro athletes are generally ahead of the curve when it comes to health and recovery. A lot of seemingly weird habits regarding diet and alternative medicine eventually become mainstream down the road.
