- So relieved I got rid of this shitcoin. Whitepaper literally says "Trust us," pre-mined coins dumped on retail, driven by massive marketing budget buying academics, politicians, NGOs and journalists. Scam!
- Writing about #Bitcoin for 13 years and not understanding a single use case is another proof of how useless most journalism is.
- As one of the few economists who was also early in Bitcoin, I can dispute some of the opinions presented as facts in this report and thread.1/ The debate over Bitcoin’s utility and sustainability began already with Nakamoto’s 2008 work. Many economists see Bitcoin as a speculative bubble that will eventually burst, leaving behind substantial social damage amid its high energy use and facilitating illicit payments.
- First Bitcoin payment at a supermarket in Switzerland – Spar in Zug, impressive implementation by @DFX_swiss. Just scan a static QR code, send sats, immediate and easy registration by the cashier. If enough people use it, it may be rolled out in the whole country.

- Amazing news: I have just received confirmation that Bitcoin payments will be rolled out in all Swiss Spar supermarkets asap after successful pilot in Zug and another one in Kreuzlingen this week.First Bitcoin payment at a supermarket in Switzerland – Spar in Zug, impressive implementation by @DFX_swiss. - Creating this skull as virtual AI art would have allowed Greenpeace to save 99% of the energy and resources that went into it. Instead, they contributed to melting Greenland's ice sheet. Change the art!
00:00 - Impressed by @JMilei's very personal and witty speech in Hamburg, capturing the spirit of Mises and Hayek.
- Replying to @scholarium_at@schaaf_jurgen I am open to share my experience and learning as an economist from 15 years of Bitcoin and speak German. For a neutral assessment of the societal impact of Bitcoin see my talk in the German parliament:
- Big surprise to me: As a very recent newcomer to Switzerland, I‘ve just won the vote as board member of @bitcoin_ch. Looking forward to drive Bitcoin adoption here and, by example, around the world.
- Bitcoin is not a coin, but a network – the most decentralized, resilient, uncensorable one. Most of the value of sats comes from being a liquid wealth asset open to anyone 24/7, without trusted third parties, and increasing network effects.#Bitcoin… • Is just a memecoin 📉 • Zero utility—purely speculative on price 🚀 • Completely changed dynamics due to ETFs & Saylor’s Ponzi over the last 1.5 years 🔄 • Same Cantillon effect as fiat—just a different set of insiders “getting in first” 💰 Change my mind! 🔥
