- USA Cattle. Consumer demand is tremendous for high quality US beef - the national herd is rebuilding…. We need proper identification of imported beef and no longer tolerate it being packaged as product of USA @SecRollins Thank you for your attention to this matter.
00:00 - #88’ Here is 88’ and her new adopted daughter-Nilla 24c She had been an orphan calf we kept at our place. We lost the 88’ calf. We worked for three hours to save her but she was just too big. 88’ gave such an honest effort for her calf I have some thank yous to write - clay
- #88’ Sore and tired. She is resting this morning. Yesterday was a tough day. They are pairing up so that is encouraging Sorry for the calamity of critics who react on here. They are wrong but loud. She had full care w a large crew and hours of vet attendance all day.
- 88’ Another picture from this morning. They are hanging out and resting. 88’ is eating and drinking - lots of work ahead for us to help w resting and healing Lots of emotions. Her condition wasn’t a good thing but she is strong. So proud of her spirit as she recovers Thanks
- #88’ Rocking. Tailhead is raised she is contracting. I did a check on her when I got there this morning. She did not fully dilate last night You can see her rocking her hips - I think to help position calf for birth. Hours now instead of days. Not ready just yet so we wait…
00:00 - I wasn’t going to look at X tonight yet here I am planting corn on the night run —this is the first thing I saw… Thanks a lot for posting this picture. Appreciate the comments too. I will try to answer some questions and move forward but not tonight. This is my favorite picReplying to @scottwestacreRIP to #88’ and her precious calf. They are reunited now to roam free in God’s green pastures. Clay and family, I am so sorry. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. - Here is the 89’ cow and her new heifer calf. No issues. This is a nice solid calf and likely one of the last for this season. Nice to see her show up today. Apologies for the wind noise
00:00 - #88’ We have moved her to portable facilities that will handle any of her needs. Food n water is available and she is in sight of cattle across road for comfort but still suits her privacy. She did have a visit with the vet & everything is going very well. Could be a busy night
- #88’ Sleeping and rest. Breathing is a bit raspy as pressure from her size pushes against diaphragm. Contractions have been going for much of night. Waiting for water to break and begin the delivery stage as she is likely fully dilated. 2 am update
- Nilla. She loves her milk. Every time she gets done with the bottle she gives out a grunt as she walks away. She is a fiesta one but it’s a sign she is healthy and getting bigger and stronger. Listen at end
00:00 - #88’ Measuring up. She is progressing. J and I measured her girth. Big red comes in at 126” around the belly. That is better than 10 feet in circumference
- Milk. Here is 54’ and her calf enjoying breakfast. She will produce over a gallon per day of milk for her calf. Over time this diminishes as he will begin grazing and eating roughages along with her as he develops. Nice to see this…all is well here ✅
