Walkable urbanism is so underrated. Woke up, walked my daughters two blocks to pick up donuts & coffee, then walked to the the park one block in the other direction. Now sitting five blocks away watching them play by the lake. Zero cars involved. Everyone should have this luxury.

No state is perfect. Make fun of Minnesota’s cold weather all you want… But we’ve got fresh water, no risk of hurricanes or earthquakes, more Fortune 500 cos per capita than any other state, all books are legal, women have rights AND we have an $18 billion budget surplus.

My partner and I raised $11 million in equity and took out a $33 million construction loan to build Akin. 204-units. And 2 saunas. It was named best urban development in Minneapolis last year.

My dad died last night. I was at his bedside for his last 36 hours. I was holding his hand when he took his last breath. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the experience of holding someone’s hand and watching them take their final breath. It was intense. And beautiful. He
