I would call this a mask-off moment, but I’m not sure how much of a mask she had left. AOC is unambiguously what Lenin called a “social imperialist”: socialist in word… imperialist in deed.

Marx imagined that socialist revolutions would occur first in the countries that already had a developed capitalist economy. However, all the attempted socialist revolutions in such countries have either been prevented, or betrayed.

Claudia and Karina have now eclipsed William Z. Foster’s 1932 election bid for the most votes of any Leninist-type communist party in history. Thousands have applied to become PSL organizers just in the past few days. This is a new day in the movement for socialist revolution!

When Mamdani first won his primary and most of the left were celebrating, I tried very hard not to rain on their parade and said that while it was possible for his victory to be good for the movement, it would depend on how he led. I’m at the point now where I need him to lose.
