#WordPress people are over here worried about their livelihoods while this “post-economic” wanna-be philosopher king is throwing a fit because he can’t get MORE money “for the community” that the community never sees.
I’m so disgusted by all of this.
So I’ve been wondering:
Does forcing software onto people’s websites without their knowledge or consent sound like the definition of hacking to anyone else?
Asking for an ecosystem. #WordPress
Oh look. They deleted it.
Maybe their very rich, very evil, and also very smart lawyer called and said “you guys are really dumb”.
The internet doesn’t forget though.

The #WordPress Plugin Developer FAQ has a new section “What happens to a plugin if the plugin owner gets blocked?”
It was updated directly on the page & NOT documented via the standard GitHub process. The last PR there was Sept 27. github.com/WordPress/deve…
In a legal court document from Automattic and Matt’s lawyers.
“WordPress.org is not #WordPress.”
Just in case anyone was still confused, yes that means we should not be calling the open-source project “dot-org”.
Cuz … that is just Matt’s website.
Aaaaaaand Matt forked @wp_acf into a canonical plugin.
Wait, is it forking if he just steals the plugin completely, slug and all? (Cuz … he did.)

So, what happens when Matt canonicalizes @wp_acf? What do we do? Cuz I’m hearing rumors that that is our next surprise. Not much of a surprise at this point, but the impact will be tangible.
I use ACF on almost every single #WordPress site I make. I feel sick.
