My landlord had told me he planned to increase my rent 11% but has decided instead to increase it 25%. Has anyone considered passing some kind of law about this

New York City is under a drought watch. Here’s former Mayor Ed Koch in 1980 for the “Keep New York City Wet” campaign — maybe @NYCMayor should replicate it (via @LaGuardiaWagner youtu.be/WG9Bg9VFYE0?si…)

Must be a funny coincidence that on his Halloween photo op in a bookstore, Mamdani took not one but two “candid” shots in front of Palestine-related books.

NYC subway stations are full of vacant spaces, so they’re started letting artists use them. Now we have Dinosaur Bodega

We’re deeply saddened by the news that members of our Amazon family passed away as a result of the storm in Edwardsville, Illinois. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone who has been impacted by the storm’s path across the U.S.

Welcome to New York! Here’s the prettiest bug you’re likely to see here. The government told us the bug is our enemy. We rejoice in killing it

Last night I was unlocking my bike outside the bar and a guy asked “do you have a light?” And I said “sorry I don’t smoke” and he handed me this tiny bike headlight

If your coverage of Andrew Yang doesn’t explain that his plan for “giving people money” is based on also shredding the social safety net, you have failed to explain Andrew Yang.

Got to see some of Eric Adams’ asinine policing late last night. Took a train downtown from the Bronx. In midtown, cops got on the train at a few stations, delaying everyone to noisily wake up some people sleeping. No compassion, no housing, just delays and NYPD overtime.

Interesting that NY Times reporters saw three cash handoffs to reporters last month and didn’t publish this reporting until now

In July, New York Times reporters witnessed other Adams supporters handing out red envelopes with cash at three separate campaign events: one in Flushing, Queens; another in Manhattan’s Chinatown; and a third in Sunset Park in Brooklyn.
