steam forums are filled with some of the dumbest comments you'll ever see. old news. wouldn't say the bar is in hell on them because hell has a floor. i say this to calibrate your baseline so that when i emphasize "this is the stupidest post i've ever seen" you know what i mean

i mean zero disrespect here but i am genuinely shocked this is news to other devs. you couldn't make cave story free today and have the same impact. people who use the internet don't use the internet that way anymore, those things don't get picked up like that anymore

my game dev career advice is that you should accidentally find a group of competent, cool, friendly people who have the unflappable creative drive you do, like you and your sensibilities, push back on you respectfully, and complement your abilities perfectly. it's THAT simple!
