Igbo father, Northern mother. Apparently I’m Igbo, Kanuri, Igala & a little Fulani. Here’s my Imo state entry ❤️ Call me Olaedo 😍

Posted my pics yesterday and some people were trying to school me about my own ethnicity. Biko, keep the ‘mixed sperm’ comments rolling if it makes you happy 😂 As long as I bear an Igbo name, anything Igbo, I go follow all of una do am. Abeg no vex lol.

I have lived all my life in the north and only identify myself as “igbo”. I only highlighted my ancestry here to show diversity esp here in the north. None of my Igbo relatives have ever made any mixed blood comment. My dad is Igbo, I am igbo.

Most of the mixture comes from my mom 😂. My dad is just plain igbo from owerri west. My mom was born in kaduna from a kaduna mother (kanuri) and a kogi father (igala). And no he is not a soldier. He just moved here and married. So yes, there are plenty of us here in the north

My mom basically is the one who is mixed. She was born in kaduna state to a kanuri mother, her father is igala. So my mom is already from two distinct tribes in arewa land. Well the “little fulani” is because its assumed some kanuris are mixed with fulani. My grandma included.

I only put little because its just assumed that most kanuris have fulani mixture. Kanuris have mainly been in borno and before they started departing to other northern states, they were already somewhat mixed with fulani.
