    A year ago my 2nd film Ammonite was selected in Official Competition at Cannes 2020. Sadly Cannes didn’t happen. As a working class, queer kid who couldn’t afford film school and wrote my first film at 45, this was beyond all my dreams. One day I hope to be there in person ❤️

    I made a 'small' film called God's Own Country. Nobody commissioned me, just a story I needed to tell. Tiny budget. Now the biggest critical/box office hit by a UK debut film maker 2017 & nominated @BAFTA Outstanding British Film. 'A British film for our times'. Thank you

    In such upsetting times, a little personal joy. I am utterly thrilled Ammonite has been selected for Cannes 2020. To be amongst the other film makers is a complete honour. I can’t wait for you all to see it soon. Thank you @Festival_Cannes

    Tonight @TIFF_NET my new film Ammonite premieres. After being selected at sadly cancelled Cannes & Telluride, this will be the first public screening. My cast, crew and me can’t be there due to Covid, BUT I really wish I was. I’m a bit nervous but I really hope you love it ❤️

    Today is my birthday. And like lots of people, it’s the first time in my life I’m spending it alone due to the pandemic, so I’ve made my favourite stew followed by my favourite crumble for tea, I’m watching Working Girl tonight as my treat and doing ok ❤️

    4 years ago today I wrapped God’s Own Country, having made 2 life long best friends who I miss. Strange times, but I think intimacy, sense of touch & hope mean more now than ever, and I only hope you will love Ammonite as much as GOC (a selection of favourite photos I took) ❤️

    It’s a difficult time for everyone, but a little personal lift. I’m thrilled Ammonite was selected for Official Competition at Cannes, a Gala at Toronto Film Festival & Telluride Film Festival. I’m super proud of Winslet & Ronan. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Thank you ❤️

    In these difficult times, my film Ammonite is released in USA today Friday 13th (lucky). A very personal project for me. I’d like to thank all my cast, crew, family and friends for their wonderful work and constant support bringing this story to life. I hope you will enjoy it
