I have resigned from the Rajya Sabha today to commit myself totally to the fight for a better Bengal. I hope to file my nomination as BJP candidate for the Tarakeshwar Assembly seat in the next few days.

- A symbolic photo. All 4 occupied the president’s post in BJP. All 4 are first-generation politicians from different regions who rose to the top from being humble karyakartas. All 4 came from modest backgrounds and are in BJP because of what it stands for. BJP has changed India.
- Honoured to be nominated by the West Bengal BJP to contest from Tarakeshwar—a centre of Bengal’s cultural heritage. I look forward to the campaign for a new, vibrant Sonar Bangla
- It is one thing to win an election, but it is quite another thing to wreak vengeance on the opposing side. I am yet to hear the ruling Trinamool Congress urge its supporters to refrain from violence. BJP workers all over the state are being targeted. This must stop.
- From a 17per cent vote share in 2014 to 40 per cent in 2019. Thank you West Bengal. Thank you @narendramodi and @AmitShah .
- This is not a protest. It is an uprising against parliamentary democracy. By ignoring its real nature we risk the very integrity of India.
- I appeal to @AmitShah to set up a fund administered by the BJP to help the kayakartas of those seriously injured by the political violence unleashed by TMC. It should also cover the families of the many that have been killed. Legal help also needed for those framed in false cases
- Tapan Ghosh died this evening. He was one of the most dedicated soldiers fighting for Hindu unity and sangathan in West Bengal. He gave his live to this cause, inspiring thousands through personal example. He will always be remembered and provide constant inspiration. Om Shanti
- Alarming situation in Nanoor (Birbhum district) with more than a thousand Hindu families out in the fields to escape marauding mobs seeking to take it out against BJP supporters. Reports of molestation or worse of women. @AmitShah please rush some security to the area.
- I thank the voters of Tarakeshwar for the support they extended to me. I lost narrowly but am thankful to the BJP leadership & workers for all the support. I shall remain engaged in the public life of Bengal. We fought a good fight & raised vital issues that will endure.
- It is now clear that without the outstanding work by Army in clearing roads, large areas of Kolkata would have still been without electricity. The incompetence of TMC govt was evident to citizens. Time to prepare for an alternative govt that works, not loots. Prepare for 2021.
- Some 2.28 crore people in Bengal voted for BJP. Do they not have human rights & democratic freedoms? What is happening in W Bengal is an assault on Indian democracy. I am not pleading; I am demanding administrative action to stop the violence. The alternatives are unpalatable.
