    Exactly the same experience at @RoyalLondonHosp. Nearly every patient on the wards unvaccinated, every patient I’ve referred to ITU unvaccinated. We’re not here to judge (my day job is lung cancer) but please help us to help you please #GetVaccinatedNow

    Today I have formally asked @NHSBartsHealth to reduce my PAs (hours worked) after being hit by an Β£8,000 tax bill this year and expecting an even bigger one next year. Unfortunately this is the only way to reduce this unfair #AnnualAllowance #PensionTax @goldstone_tony

    We currently have nearly 60 patients on enhanced respiratory support (CPAP/HFNO/NIV) on Respiratory and Acute Medical Wards, compared to ~25 at the peak of the first wave and 3 at baseline. We have expanded to 20x baseline 😳

    Five years ago today we moved out of the London Chest, a hospital in the East End of London built to combat a respiratory infection, today we are building another one. Talk about life going full circle!

    Admitted a patient this week with an entirely preventable asthma exacerbation because she couldn’t afford the prescription charge for her preventative inhaler. Bad for her health, misses work meaning she has even less money and given cost and bed pressures economically bonkers.

    My patient is struggling to afford basic formula milk for her baby. I see her fear and desperation & I’m shaking with anger. Come on @BorisJohnson, come sit in my chair and FACE HER. Look her in the eye & tell her why you’re doing f*** all about the cost of living crisis.

    This is not just unfair on me, it’s unfair on our patients. Every week that’s 4 hours less work, 4 hours less patients seen, waiting lists getting longer and longer, potentially for the next 25 years of my career. @SteveBarclay @Jeremy_Hunt what are you going to do about it?
