How to unlearn most of your suffering and anxiety
I'll explain the 2 main methods first, then the theory at the end for those interested.
Whichever method you choose to use, I recommend giving it at least 5-10 minutes, ideally more, with your eyes closed, no distractions.
I can't recommend enough that you stop lurking and start posting/replying. I've made some great friends here, learned amazing things, had cool conversations with completely random people. This place has many problems, but the fact that people talk to each other is precious
avoidance โ tension โ suffering
1. there are sensations we don't want to experience (thoughts, memories, current moment)
2. we avert our attention & tense against them (push away, suppress)
3. tension โ negative valence โ suffering

this is a really great analogy. when I talk about unlearning suffering (reactivity), the first thing people think of is getting rid of the big ticket items, but unlearning this constant push and pull of micro scale suffering is equally impactful.
