My grandmother, who grew up in nazi Germany, when asked questions like “what did you know?” would talk about the Jewish kids disappearing from her school. That is to say it was such a profound horror, evident to a child, that she knew everyone knew, if not the totality, enough.

Im down with “kill your rapist” self defense is always justified. “kill your local rapist” on the other hand, is really not as clean cut as people who defend it like to think, especially in a country with a long and continuing history of lynching based on false rape allegations.
