- At Keflavik airport, there’s a guy whose job it is to guess the nationality of anyone leaving the country and click the right flag. They must be hiring only the advanced racists for this job, someone who can tell a Norwegian from a Swede with just a glance
- in 30 years i’ll probably be up to some boomer stuff, like ”NO SON OF MINE IS MARRYING AN LLM, MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN TWO HUMANS ONLY”, and my kids will be like ”OMG dad you’re so robophobic!!!”
- anything you see on a screen is computed any effect will slow down your computer. stuff like this is why everything is so slow these days, we’re spending so much of our compute/memory budget on things entirely orthogonal to the task at handCan I please shake the hand of developers who made this happen?! 🤝 I salute you with respect 🫡
- Balatro is basically one long series of if-then-else statements, you can just do things>commits most of OOP sins >getters and setters >classes with inheritance >loves managers >loves singletons >loves small functions >uses STL >still sold 6-7 million copies of his games. Is OOP good after all, or it doesn't matter what you do if end product is good?
