Spreadsheets are nearly solved @tryshortcutai A moment is coming for spreadsheet work in the next couple months like it did for AI coding in August 2024. I didn't quite appreciate just how verifiable spreadsheets were at first. Turns out spreadsheets are really just math.

    Building a Good Vertical Agent
How do you build an agent that actually performs in a domain — one customers pick because it's better? The basics have been standardized over the past year: an agent is a while-loop around a model...

For the second time now, @tryshortcutai was independently ranked as the top Excel AI agent in the world. We specifically build for the top analysts, and this matches what we see on the ground. It's firmly us, then Claude, or your firm forces Copilot upon you.

Opus 4.7 is live in @tryshortcutai It's a great model, but definitely requires some getting used to. Reminds me of Sonnet 3.7 when it came out. According to our spreadsheet evals, it is a meaningful efficiency jump, but is ~ parity with Opus 4.6 depending on task/config.

We are opening up a Research Preview for a product we are calling ShortcutXL We used ShortcutXL to build and audit 100 of the most searched for Excel templates in parallel (we are making them free too). OfficeJS/Openpyxl are great, but still quite limiting. Comment for access

Shortcut, Claude for Excel, and other Excel Add-ins are changing how spreadsheet work is done. But what would it take to make them another 10-100x more powerful? We are opening up a research preview for a product we call ShortcutXL. Comment for access.
