Rwanda's efforts to fight COVID-19 are translating into economic recovery. After the recession of 2020, the country achieved a GDP growth of 3.5% in the first Quarter 2021 and now the National Institute of Statistics has just published a GDP growth of 20.6% for Quarter 2.

- Today in Tokyo,I signed with the Vice President of JICA a financing grant agreement for a water distribution in Kigali City project. Japan cooperates with Rwanda in Energy, Transport, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, ICT, and Education.
- Today we disseminated data on Rwanda's economic growth: GDP grew by 8.6% in 2018 (Agriculture: 6%; Industry: 10%; Services: 9%).
- Happy to chair the annual Development Partners Retreat #DPR physically in the city of Rubavu after our successful collective fight against COVID-19. What we have achieved together with our development partners in the last two difficult years is a proof that we can do even more.

- The first ever Africa Investment Forum is taking place now in Johannesburg. Billions of USD investment deals expected. Yesterday, the Kigali Innovation City project attracted interest of many investors.
