acquisition aside, windsurf is a baller company first they built up a decent customer base serving proper legacy enterprises (outcompeting copilot/msft) then they saw cursor’s traction and built an arguably even better version in months serving boomer cos and frontier devs at

no this Cursor/Anthropic thing is way different. this all happened in the span of a week or so not 5 years this is much more like the time Deandre Jordan left the Clippers and verbally agreed to join the Mavs but his Clippers teammates literally held him hostage in his own home

whatever happened to Retool? such a high flying, talent-dense co during covid/zirp on a longer horizon, AI likely poses a large threat to the business, but in the short term I would have expected AI to be a tailwind (building internal tools/dashboards becomes even more magical)

the story of @constitutiondao is crazy through and through but what's happening right now is insane: a market has formed for $people tokens and its trading at 33x its initial fixed price... and yet ppl are still redeeming their tokens (accepting a refund) for the initial price

closed-loop tokens are the future of crypto these are protocols that generate and capture revenue onchain and also translate that value back into their token completely onchain --> thus creating a transparent, programmable, closed loop the universe of these tokens is very small
