I just want to say I am INCREDIBLY proud of the vast number of doctors (all grades) for speaking up and calling out the unacceptable pay & treatments of UK doctors. The movement is contagious & won't just blow over. We are the change we need! ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿฆ€

This is misleading. I am a 3rd year doctor at Core Training level or Specialist Registrar Level 1. Here is my payslip. I get paid ยฃ19 an hour. My salary is ยฃ40257 a year. Not ยฃ55900. #PayRestoration @BMA_JuniorDocs @doctors_vote

The BMA has demanded a 35% pay rise for junior doctors. Here's their current average pay rates at different levels. digital.nhs.uk/data-and-inforโ€ฆ

The industrial dispute with Junior Doctors is over basic pay and these figures do not represent basic pay. It includes additional earnings on top of basic earnings, including pay for additional hours and compulsory shift work. digital.nhs.uk/data-and-inforโ€ฆ

This is a payslip of a FY1 doctor in the NHS. They are paid ยฃ14 an hour. They take home ยฃ1097 a month. 70k+ in debt for student loan after 5/6 years of medical school. This is not fair. You can't blame doctors for leaving. #PayRestoration @BMA_JuniorDocs @doctors_vote

As a specialist registrar doctor, Iโ€™m paid ยฃ29/hour after 6 years of med school, a masterโ€™s, expensive exams & 6 years on the frontline. Weโ€™re asking for me & my colleagues at the same level to be paid ยฃ7 more an hour to ยฃ36 to restore our pay. We intubate, operate, lead resus

Repeat after me. Itโ€™s NOT elitist for doctors to call out & legally challenge any dangerous practice of blurring the line between doctors and other associates. It's NOT elitist for doctors to band together under a strong union or an advocate group to protect patient safety.

โ€œDoctors already earn more than the average! Greedy.โ€ But being a doctor isnโ€™t an average job! We resuscitate, intubate, operate, deliver babies, treat heart attacks & strokes. Weโ€™re there in your most vulnerable moments - making life-and-death decisions! Itโ€™s not arrogant to

Imagine. Spending 5/6 years of your life studying Medicine. Stressing over countless exams. Ensuring you're good and safe enough to be a doctor. Coming out with ยฃ100k student loan debts. Then, get told you are RANDOMLY allocated your first doctor job ANYWHERE in the country.

ยฃ64,408-ยฃ73,961 for 37.5 hours a week. Chief Physcian Associate. ยฃ63,152 for 40 hours. ST8 doctor in their 8th year registrar with at least 10 years of being a doctor. 1. What can a PA do that a ST8 doctor cannot? 2. Why can't the PA role money be used to employ more doctors?

My partner now earns 15k more than I do yearly. We are the same age. He works 37 hours a week. He did a 3 year degree paid by his company. He works hard but he gets financially compensated. He is enraged on my behalf that I am paid ยฃ19/h as a 4th year doctor.

You are either a surgical registrar by obtaining a medical degree, doing at least 5 years+ postgraduate training with on-calls as a doctor, passing MRCS, spending thousands of ยฃ on courses Or you are not. There is no such thing as 'registrar-level' without any of the above.

Caught up with a friend who moved to Australia as a doctor. Their contracted hours are 7:30amโ€“3:30pm, 5 days a week. Paid significantly more than what they earned in the NHS working 48+ hrs/week. Every single 10 mins after 3:30pm is logged and paid as overtime. Let that sink

As an F1, once I rang a speciality reg on call for advice on my patients, a consultant picked up. Instead of grilling me for my limited knowledge ๐Ÿ˜…, he was so kind. He talked me through the case, discussed the topic and offered to sign a CBD off. I still remember this ๐Ÿ˜Š

House emergency. Plumber required at 4pm. No plumber available. Finally, a plumber can come out later for ยฃ170/h. Plumbers are worth their weight in gold. They are specialists. Yet, I'm being paid ยฃ28/h working in the middle of the night & ยฃ21/h day time as a 4th year doctor ๐Ÿคฏ

If you want to be a doctor & do what a doctor does. Please go to medical school. Nothing else is 'equivalent'.

3 + 2 makes 5. Come on now. Just because you repeat it enough times does not make it true.
