This book contains the first serious analysis of the final chapter of Capital Vol. 1 (the one about settler colonialism) I have ever read. That chapter was a formative text for me, and yet I have seen very, very few serious discussions of it.

Regardless of whether you actually vote for Biden or not, saying “I’m not going to vote for Biden” in a poll has actually seemed to freak the administration out, so I’m not really sure if I have a problem with this sentiment here. We should keep saying this.

It’s crazy that there is a city in the United States whose residents are a plurality members of the country’s racial underclass, many of whom are employed in serving the city’s labor aristocracy/bureaucracy. And oh yeah they literally don’t have voting rights. That’s a colony!

It's very disappointing to see two of DSA's state-level electeds not endorsing Zohran Mamdani for mayor today. I'm not sure how we are going to build DSA into a functional socialist party if we keep needing to explain away incoherence at the legislative level to the media.

I really, really don't get the "Don't Rank Eric or Andrew for Mayor" stuff at this point. All of the other campaigns are currently dead in the water. Zohran is the only answer *right now,* pretending or imagining otherwise is essentially obscurantist. Just say "Vote Zohran!"

"AOC is endorsing late to maximize impact" seems to be a strategy that sounds coherent on the surface but I think needs to be interrogated a lot more. New York is a big city where you can do a lot of rallies and send a lot of mail with her face on it. I just don't buy it.

The fact that Zohran is not listed *first* on these endorsements, or otherwise legitimated as the primary target of support, is seriously awful. I don't really know what to say here.

Zohran Mamdani’s readiness to defend “Globalize the Intifada” as a core slogan of resistance to capitalism and settler colonialism is beyond commendable. DSA’s electoral projects are strongest when their mouthpieces use their platform to change the narrative on issues like these.

But in all seriousness, the Left/center-Left needs to do some critical reflection on Walz's reign of terror during the 2020 George Floyd uprising. Pushing back against his narrative will require a re-centering of abolition in our political program, which we have been lacking.
