- Meteorology students celebrating the potential defunding of NOAA/NWS is an interesting take... Cutting government waste is fine. Supporting major reductions of an already under-funded workforce, which you may want a job in - probably isn't.
- NWS is suspending or reducing weather balloon launches at several more sites citing staffing.

- I don't think you understand what a 1 in 1000 year flood means... It's not 1 per 1000 years. It's a 0.001% chance of occurring each year. We really should get rid of the 100,500,10000 yr flood terms.
- This is not what the National Weather Service does.... NWS and NOAA runs the models, sensors, data that many use. Not stand in front of a map...Replying to @wxrjmIn 1995, yes. Today? Weather forecasts are on autopilot. We don’t need a human in front of a map anymore to explain the L’s and the H’s. Honestly, do YOU watch the six o’clock local anymore?
- Several things stick out to me about the Tyndall AFB video. 1. Every tree was snapped. We'd typically see in EF-3+ TORs. 2. Sheer amount of metal debris/siding that blew around. 3. Trailers are NOT safe. 4. Airplanes blown around. These were bolted down!
- Due to office staffing, weather balloon launches at the NWS in Albany, New York, and Gray, Maine are intermittently suspended, effective Immediately.

- Prayers for our sister station.- WCTI Water is up to the doors of the station. Everyone except the meteorologists are evacuating.
- NC People: Listen I don't care if you've ridden out a Cat 1/2/3 before. I don't care if your house has never flooded before. Each storm is different. The time to prepare is NOW. This storm has the potential to do things we haven't seen before, across a widespread area.
