    An incredible #RefugeeWeek story! 🌍✨ Wali Noori was one of the first refugees we welcomed in 2016. He was blinded by an IED blast while working with the British Army in Afghanistan. He's now a 4x Invictus Games medal winner 🥇🏆 motivational speaker & soon-to-be author. 📚❤️

    Breaking! 🚨 Major Middlewick Update! 😮 After a slow and steady evidence-based approach, we're now in a position to recommend removing Middlewick from Colchester's local plan. This would protect the much-loved site from the threat of housing development. 💚

    Colchester pays tribute to its heroic fallen, a century after the end of World War 1. A vivid animation, featuring more than 1,200 names, is set to light up the Castle from dusk until 9pm tonight and Saturday, and until 8pm on Sunday.

    In honour and remembrance of our fallen service men and women, and the enormous debt of gratitude we owe, we're lighting our Town Hall red, and displaying a moving tribute of falling poppies onto Colchester Castle until Monday ❤️ #LestWeForget #ArmisticeDay #RemembranceSunday

    The death gun salute marking the passing of Her Majesty The Queen by 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery from Colchester Garrison took place today. It was a fitting tribute to our longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
