The fail case for WFH is not inefficiency; it's burnout.

- At a certain size, the job of a founder switches from building a product to building a company. It drove me crazy for a while to not be building a product directly ... until I realized that for a founder, the company is the product.
- Funny take this weekend: "Tech in Miami is a bit odd. The ratio of VC's to entrepreneurs is about 5:1. Lots of social events, but not sure how much code gets written."
- Wow. Today has been surreal. Iβm so incredible proud of the company that the @Plaid team has built over the past 7 years. Todayβs announcement is a huge milestone for our company, customers, bank partners, and the fintech ecosystem!
- Today, we announced that we are calling off @Plaid's pending acquisition by Visa. While not what we planned a year ago, I'm confident that an independent path is best for our customers, team, and for the financial services ecosystem.
- I think the only great startup advice Iβve ever given is βdonβt dieβ. It turns out that simply not allowing your company to die is the first step to building something substantial.
- What are the most interesting API-driven companies these days? Twilio, Stripe, etc. set the standard β who is building the next generation?
- My favorite PM interview set: 1: Tell me about the highest-impact project you've done recently. 2: What were the goals, and how did you deliver on them? 3: If you replaced yourself with any other PM at the company, how would the outcome of the project have been different?
- Today, I described @Plaid to a candidate as "Small enough that a single motivated individual can have a substantial impact on the trajectory of a company." My goal is to ensure that this always stays true.
- Things VCs could do to make founders + execs better: - Match them with 1-2 great mentors + a good coach - Pay them well - Make sure they take vacation, exercise, have a personal life - Find them great EAβs - Help them spend money on a nice office - Feed them info on their market
- I've been overwhelmed by congratulations in the past two days. But everyone please remember: founders don't build companies, the team does. I'm so grateful to each of the 450 team members for everything they have built! Give a @Plaid a high five if you see them!
- In Jan 2012, I left my consulting job to go work for Techstars NYC. Techstars was like βYC of New Yorkβ β but instead of batch dinners and partner office hours, they gave the companies full-time office space and brought in a cadre of well-known founders + investors as "mentors".
- What should Plaid build to support cryptocurrencies?
