What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a
research-backed approach that helps
children:

  • Develop necessary, every-day skills.

  • Improve communication.

  • Build independence.

At Zems, we use ABA to create
personalized programs that focus on your
child’s unique strengths and challenges —
while making life easier and more joyful
for the whole family.

No matter where your child is in their journey, ABA can help them reach new milestones and gain confidence.

Because every small step builds into big progress — ABA breaks goals down into manageable pieces, so children learn skills that truly stick.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can my child start?

We strive to get children into therapy as quickly as possible. Once your intake forms are submitted and the initial consultation is complete, we usually schedule your child’s first sessions within 1 to 2 weeks.

Zems provides ABA therapy for children ages 2-21, tailoring programs to each developmental stage. Whether your
child is just beginning to communicate or needs support with social skills in school, we design programs to meet their
unique needs.

Every child progresses at their own pace, but families often see noticeable improvements within the first 3 months.
Our goal is to help your child gain communication, social, and daily living skills, while also reducing challenging
behaviors – all supported by ongoing BCBA supervision.

Our telehealth sessions are delivered via video platforms like Google Meets, allowing your child to receive therapy or supervision at home. Licensed BCBAs provide guidance, coaching, and oversight remotely, ensuring consistent, highquality care with the convenience of home-based sessions

ABA therapy is recommended for children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges. If your child struggles with communication, social interaction, or daily skills, ABA may help. During the consultation, we’ll evaluate your child’s needs and recommend a tailored program.

The number of hours varies based on your child’s goals, age, and needs. Many children start with 10–20 hours per
week, but we create personalized plans that fit your child and family’s schedule, balancing therapy with school and
home life.

Absolutely! Parents play a critical role in reinforcing skills at home. We provide parent coaching and guidance, so you
can actively support your child’s growth, track progress, and apply strategies outside of therapy sessions.

ABA therapy is mandated by Georgia law to be covered by most insurance plans for children under 18. Coverage
typically includes assessment, treatment, and supervision. Some plans have annual caps or require authorization. You
can review your benefits, and our team will help verify coverage and guide you through the process.

Yes! Zems offers a private pay option for families without insurance coverage. We’ll work with you to create a plan that
fits your child’s needs and your budget, so your child can still access the support they deserve

At Zems, we go beyond traditional ABA therapy:
Family-first approach: We partner with parents to ensure progress extends beyond sessions.
Flexible care options: In-school, home-based, and telehealth sessions available.
Experienced team: Licensed BCBAs provide supervision and ongoing staff training.
Personalized plans: Each child’s program is designed around their strengths, needs, and goals.
Proven results: Focused on meaningful milestones that improve everyday life for your child and family
