Duke Field Hockey A-Z Game Day Guide

Guests with any special needs, questions, or concerns regarding accessibility and accommodations are encouraged to contact the Duke Disability Management System at (919) 668-1267. Our disabilities coordinators can assist in making arrangements for your visit and answer any questions.
- Accessible Parking: Designated spaces are available in the Bivins Lot (GPS address: 4 Brodie Gym Drive), located above Duke Softball Stadium on Brodie Gym Drive. Additional parking is available in the 705 Broad Street parking lot, across the street from Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. An ADA parking placard or license plate is required for access, limited to one vehicle per placard, into the Bivins Lot. - Accessible Drop-Off/Pick-Up Point: Available in the Bivins Lot, adjacent to the Duke Softball Stadium on Brodie Gym Drive.
- Accessible Entry: Access is available via the north gate of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium, located next to the stadium restrooms and across from the Duke Softball Stadium. Directional signage will be provided.
- Accessible Seating: Available on the front row of the stadium bleachers, with accessible ramps located at both ends.
- Accessible Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are located at the north end of the stadium.

It is strictly prohibited to bring alcohol into Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Individuals violating this policy are subject to ejection from the facility.
- Service Animals: Duke University Athletics welcomes trained Service Animals. Service Animals must be under the control of their handler at all times and remain leashed or tethered unless doing so interferes with their trained task. Service Animals must not display aggression or disrupt the event. All Service Animals must have current rabies vaccination tags or provide proof of vaccination upon request. Violations may result in exclusion from the venue.
- Service Animals in Training: In North Carolina, Service Animals in Training have the same access rights as fully trained Service Animals. The trainer is responsible for any damage caused. The animal must be housebroken, under control at all times and follow behavior guidelines established for trained Service Animals. Violations may result in exclusion from the venue.
- Emotional Support, Therapy & Companion Animals: Emotional support animals, therapy dogs and companion animals are not classified as Service Animals under the ADA and are not permitted inside Koskinen Stadium.
- Personal Pets: Personal pets are not permitted inside Koskinen Stadium.
There are no ATMs available inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
Banners and signs are welcome inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. However, Duke University reserves the right to prohibit or require the removal of any banners or signs that obstruct other guests' views, cover stadium signage, serve as advertisements, or are deemed obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate or derogatory.
Hand-held still cameras are permitted for personal use only. Cameras with a lens longer than four inches are not allowed. Video cameras may be used during pre-game and halftime only but are prohibited from filming the game.
Concessions at all home games, excluding pre-season exhibitions, will be provided by Proof of the Pudding. Please note that all concession stands operate as cashless venues. All transactions will be credit/debit card only, including mobile pay apps. Flex account payment is available for Duke students and staff with their DukeCard in hand (mobile DukeCard payment not currently available).
In case of an emergency inside the stadium, please contact any Duke Athletics staff member or call Duke Police at (919) 684-2444. For incidents outside the stadium, dial 9-1-1 to reach Durham Police.
- Follow Directions: During any emergency inside the stadium, please follow the instructions provided by the PA announcer, Duke Athletics staff, and emergency responders.
- Designate Meeting Locations: Always establish a pre-determined meeting spot both inside and outside the stadium to reunite with friends and family in case you become separated or in the event of an emergency.
- Know Your Exits: Upon arriving at your seat, locate the nearest exit and identify an alternate exit in case of emergency. Exit gates for the stadium are located at:
- North Gate: Main entrance located next to the stadium restrooms – accessible for guests with disabilities
- Southwest Gate: Entry gate located near the Broad Street/Perry Street intersection – stairs required
- Northwest Gate: Exit-only gate located at the north end of the stadium bleachers – accessible for guests with disabilities
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you see or become aware of any unusual, suspicious, or concerning activity, report it to the nearest Duke Athletics staff member or tweet @Duke_GAMEDAY.
- Emergency Vehicle Access: Emergency vehicles may be present in and around the stadium. Please do not obstruct the path of fire trucks or emergency vehicles or interfere with their operations. Vehicles or objects (tables, tents, tailgate games, etc.) blocking emergency vehicles, designated fire lanes, stadium exits, exit paths, or vehicle/pedestrian traffic will be removed and addressed as deemed appropriate by stadium officials. Vehicles are subject to being towed at the owner's expense.
- Weather Awareness: Monitor the weather prior to the game and take necessary precautions to protect your family and friends in the event of severe heat or weather before, during, or after the game. In case of severe weather during the game, be prepared to evacuate the stadium and return to your vehicle.
All gates to Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the game. Guests may leave and re-enter the stadium at any time.
- North Gate: The main entrance, located next to the stadium restrooms and across from Duke Softball Stadium. This entrance is accessible to guests with disabilities.
- Southwest Gate: Additional entry is available at the Southwest Gate, located near the Broad Street/Perry Street intersection. Please note that this gate is not accessible, and stairs are required for entry/exit.
All purses, bags and strollers are permitted into Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. All personal items are subject to inspection by the Game Manager.
Duke Athletics expects all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner before, during, and after the competition. We ask all fans to treat other guests, players, coaches, and officials with courtesy. Help us create a fun, safe, family-friendly atmosphere at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium by avoiding the following behaviors:
- Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
- Using or displaying foul or abusive language or gestures
- Appearing intoxicated or in a diminished capacity
- Entering competition or restricted access areas
- Smoking, except in designated areas
- Throwing objects onto the competition area or within the venue
- Engaging in disorderly conduct
Guests should contact game day staff if they observe inappropriate behavior. Violators may be subject to ejection and possible arrest.

If an item is lost or found in the stadium, please report it to or inquire with any Duke Athletics staff member. All lost and found items not claimed before the end of the game will be available for pick-up the next business day by contacting the Duke Facilities & Game Operations office at (919) 668-5658 or via email at [email protected]. Unclaimed items will be retained for 30 days following the event. After this period, any unclaimed items will be discarded.
There is no merchandise stand for regular season games at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. For Duke Athletics merchandise, visit the Johnson Family Team Store, located on West Campus in the Scott Family Athletics Performance Center (adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium). Store hours can be found at dukestores.duke.edu/hours.
Game day parking is available only in the designated university parking lots listed below. Please do not park in the Whole Foods or Shops at Erwin Mill parking lot, as shopping centers will ticket and tow vehicles at the owner’s expense. There is no street parking in the neighborhoods around Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium and Duke University East Campus.
- General Public Parking:
- August 30: Free parking for the general public will be located in the R1 lot (GPS Address: 2352 Hillsborough Road). Directional signage will be posted.
- All Other Games: Free parking will be available in the 705 Broad Street parking lot, located across Broad Street from Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium (GPS Address: 705 Broad Street). To access the lot, please enter from Perry Street. Directional signage will be posted.
- Parking for Guests with Disabilities: Designated spaces are available in the Bivins Lot, located above the Duke Softball Stadium on Brodie Gym Drive next to the Bivins Building. Additional parking for guests with disabilities is located in the 705 Broad Street parking lot, across the street from Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. An ADA parking placard or license plate is required for access, limited to one vehicle per placard. For assistance or questions, contact Duke Disability Management System at (919) 668-1267.
- Accessible Drop-Off/Pick-Up Point: An accessible drop-off and pick-up point for guests with disabilities is available in front of Brodie Recreation Center on Brodie Gym Drive.
- Tailgating: Due to the impact on campus operations, tailgating is NOT permitted in game day parking lots at any time. Guests may use the grass areas around Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium and Duke Softball Stadium on Duke University East Campus. Vehicles are not permitted to drive down pedestrian paths to reach tailgate areas at any time.
- Parking Disclaimer: Duke University assumes no responsibility for loss through fire, theft, collision, or otherwise to the car or contents. Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk. Please lock your vehicle.
- Parking Emergency Information: In case of emergency, dial (919) 684-2444 for Duke Police Emergency Dispatch or 9-1-1 for Durham County. Duke Police will be the primary responder on-campus for emergency calls. Durham Police will be the primary responder off-campus for emergency calls. If an emergency occurs and authorities are contacted, please designate someone in your party to help direct emergency personnel to the emergency location.

For the safety and game day experience of all fans, the following items are prohibited from entering Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Artificial noisemakers
- Balloons, balls, and frisbees
- Cameras with lenses over four inches
- All drones and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) – Duke UAS Policy
- Hazardous materials
- Items obstructing the sightlines of other guests
- Laser pointers
- Pets (except service animals)
- Selfie sticks
- Shoes with wheels (wheelies)
- Tents or canopies of any kind in the seating area
- Weapons of any kind (including pocketknives)
Duke University reserves the right to deny entry to any individual or item. Prohibited items should be returned to your vehicle or discarded. All guests and items brought into the stadium are subject to search before entering.
For the safety of all in attendance, bags and items are not permitted to be left unattended outside of Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Unattended bags and items found outside the stadium will be dealt with as deemed appropriate by stadium officials, including disposal. Duke University and Duke Athletics are not responsible for the loss of any unattended items.
Men’s and women’s restrooms inside Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the game and close 30 minutes after the game. Stadium restrooms are accessible for guests with disabilities.
Restrooms are located at the north entrance of the stadium.
All seating in Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium is general admission, bleacher seating and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible seating for guests with disabilities is available on the front row of the stadium bleachers, with accessible ramps located at both ends of the bleachers. For guest safety, standing is not permitted along the fence behind either goal cage inside the striking circle.
- Severe Weather Alert: If a storm producing severe weather, including lightning, is within fifteen (15) miles of the stadium, the PA Announcer will notify guests of the severe weather in the area. Guests may leave and re-enter the stadium later if they wish to seek shelter.
- Mandatory Evacuation: A mandatory evacuation of the stadium will occur if a storm producing severe weather, including lightning, comes within eight (8) miles of the stadium. The PA Announcer will direct all guests to clear the stadium and seek shelter immediately. In most cases, guests will be directed to their vehicles for shelter. If it is unsafe to return to vehicles, the PA Announcer will designate the nearest shelter location. Duke Athletics staff will be available to direct and assist guests, including those with disabilities.
- Stadium Closure and Re-opening: The stadium will remain closed until severe weather, including lightning, has cleared an eight (8) mile radius of the stadium for thirty (30) minutes. Play will resume once an all-clear has been given and conditions are deemed safe after consultation with Duke Game Operations and Game Officials. Re-entry will be permitted at that time. Personal items are subject to inspection upon re-entry by the Game Manager.
All regular season games at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium are free of charge, and no tickets are necessary. Please note that postseason events, such as the NCAA Tournament, may require tickets.
Duke University is a Tobacco-Free Campus, including match days at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. This policy prohibits the use of all tobacco-based products, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, chewing tobacco, snuff, and electronic smoking devices (including e-cigarettes, vaping products, and IQOS). Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium offers Wi-Fi throughout the venue. Visitors can connect to the “GoDuke” network for access.
