Quality backlinks, built on autopilot.
BacklinkGenie finds sites that should be linking to you, writes a personal pitch to each editor, sends it from a mailbox we set up and run, and follows up. You get more links and more traffic without doing outreach yourself.
- No card for the report
- Plans from $99/month
- Pitches never come from your own domain
- You approve every email

DR 91 · Students, researchers and writers comparing note-taking apps
Hi there,
Your note-taking roundup has a section for students and researchers. None of the picks there keep the source attached when a quote moves from a PDF into a draft.
That's the one thing Margin does: every highlight keeps its citation, so nothing loses its reference later.
If it helps that section, I can set up a free account for you to try.
Thanks,
Ana

Hi there,
1 Your note-taking guide does a good job of matching each app to how people actually work.
2 I think Margin could fit the students and researchers section. 3 It keeps the citation attached when a quote moves from a PDF into a draft, which none of the picks there do.
4 If that's useful, I can set up a free account so you can try it first.

Morning. Anything from editors overnight?
Two replies. nesslabs.com said yes and asked where Margin should go. makeuseof.com asked for a paid placement.
Draft both. Decline the paid one politely, offer a free account instead.
Done. Ness Labs gets the section ("Tools for research notes"), the anchor Margin and one sentence to paste. MakeUseOf gets a short no-thanks with a free account offer. Want to read them before I send?
Send both. Then approve today's pitches over DR 70.
Both replies sent. Approved 3 pitches: zapier.com (DR 91), pcmag.com (DR 92), techradar.com (DR 91). They'll go out within today's mailbox limit.
Where the links come from
Mentions in posts that already rank.
No guest posts and no paid placements. The agent asks editors to add your product to pages where it helps their readers, then confirms the link went live.
Lists and roundups
"Best CRM for freelancers", "top note-taking apps". Editors refresh these and add tools their readers ask about.
Alternatives and comparisons
"Notion alternatives", "Mailchimp vs Kit". The people reading are already choosing.
Resource pages
A page of recommended tools and links for one role or problem. It exists to link out, so a useful entry fits.
How-to guides
A guide to a job your product does, where one line about you helps the reader finish.
Prefer to try it by hand first? The complete link outreach guide covers the whole process, and how to get backlinks compares each method by effort and risk. For one tactic at a time, read the best-of list guide or how to get into alternatives posts. It works the same way for SaaS products, startups chasing their first links and agencies pitching for clients.

The numbers
What $99 a month buys.
One mailbox sends about 540 pitches in its first 30 days while it ramps up, then about 1,050 a month. Each pitch is written for one post and sent to one person.
We don't promise a number of links. That depends on how many good posts exist in your niche and whether editors think your product helps their readers. Anyone who guarantees links is usually paying for them (see what paid backlinks really cost). Plans are built around how many emails each mailbox can send safely; see pricing.
Once mailboxes are warmed up; the first month sends about half. Pitches and follow-ups count as emails. Finding posts, checking contacts, reply drafts and link checks are included.
After the yes
Find out when a link you won disappears.
Posts get rewritten and sites get redesigned, and links quietly go missing. Once an editor adds yours, the agent finds it on the live page and checks it again every week.
- Email alert if the link is removed or changed to nofollow
- Every placement saved with its page, Domain Rating and dates
- Included on every paid plan
Links won
Every placement your outreach earned. We verify each link and re-check it weekly.

Quality gate
Every email is checked before it sends. Yours too.
The fastest way to burn a mailbox is one careless email. Pitches you edit and replies you write go through the same rules as the agent's drafts. If one fails, you see the reason and a suggested fix.
- Only sent to the contact found for that post's site
- Links only to your own site, no shorteners or attachments
- Offers of payment or link swaps are blocked

This email didn't pass the quality check.
- Offers to pay for a placement aren't allowed. Pitches have to be editorial.
- Shortened links are blocked. Link to your own site only.
Domain safety
Your company domain never sends a pitch.
Cold email from your main domain can push your team's normal email into spam. On a paid plan every pitch comes from a separate domain we register, set up and look after.
A domain close to your brand
Something like getyourbrand.com. Anyone who visits it lands on your real site.
A real Google mailbox
Google Workspace, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up before the first email.
A slow start on purpose
4 emails a day at first, rising by 2 every other day to 35.
Yours if you leave
We'll move the domain to your own registrar for free if you ask.
Who we turn away
We say no to some sites, so editors keep saying yes.
Editors stop reading emails from tools that pitch casinos and link farms. We check every site before the agent starts, which keeps our mailboxes trusted for everyone.
- Checked at signup
- A spam blocklist check and a category review run before the agent does anything.
- No buying or selling links
- No paid placements and no private blog networks. Emails that offer payment don't send.
- Checked again later
- If a site changes what it sells or gets flagged, its outreach pauses until we review it.
Sites we don't work with
- Gambling, casinos, betting or sweepstakes
- Adult or sexual content
- CBD, cannabis, vapes, tobacco or kratom
- Weapons, ammunition or explosives
- Crypto trading signals, ICOs, MLM or get-rich schemes
- Payday loans, debt relief or credit repair
- Online pharmacy, unapproved supplements or weight-loss pills
- Essay mills, fake reviews, follower selling or link selling
- Hacking tools, account selling or piracy
- Hate, extremism or misinformation

FAQ
Questions people ask before they start.
Something we didn't cover? Email support@backlinkgenie.com and a person will reply.
How do I get backlinks for my SaaS without paying for them?
Ask to be mentioned in posts that already rank for your category, your competitors or the job your product does: lists, alternatives and comparison pages, resource pages and how-to guides. Editors update these and add tools that help their readers. BacklinkGenie finds those posts, checks each site, finds the editor, writes one pitch per post and confirms the link once it's live.
What's in the free prospect report?
A list of real posts where your product could be mentioned, each with its Ahrefs Domain Rating, why it fits, and a verified contact. The agent builds it from your site, so the length depends on your niche: crowded categories return more posts than narrow ones. No card is needed. Paid plans turn the report into pitches and send them.
Will outreach hurt my company domain or email?
No. Pitches never come from your main domain. On a paid plan we register a separate domain close to your brand, set up a Google Workspace mailbox on it with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and send from there. If that domain ever had problems, your website and company email would not be affected.
Is automated link outreach spam? Can Google penalise me for it?
Asking an editor to consider your product is not a link scheme. Paying for links is, and our quality gate blocks any email that offers payment or a link exchange. Each pitch goes to one person, about one specific post, from a mailbox that sends at most 35 emails a day. That is ordinary business email, not bulk mail.
What kinds of links does BacklinkGenie go after?
Editorial mentions inside existing content: best-of lists, comparison and alternatives pages, resource pages and how-to guides for the job your product does. It does not write guest posts, buy placements or touch private blog networks. Sites that mainly sell links are filtered out before anything is drafted, and you can set a minimum Domain Rating per site.
How many links will I get?
We don't promise a number, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Results depend on how many relevant posts exist in your niche, how good your product is for their readers, and how quickly editors update. What we control: every pitch is written for one post, sent to a verified person, and followed up politely.
How much of my time does it take?
A few minutes to set up: paste your URL, check the profile the agent writes and pick a sender name. After that, plan on a few minutes a day to approve pitches and answer editors who reply. The agent drafts those replies too. Once you trust the pitches, you can switch on autopilot and skip the approval step.
What does one pitch cost?
Starter sends up to 1,000 outreach emails a month for $99 once its mailbox is warmed up, about 9.9 cents an email, with the domain, the mailbox, the research and the contact check included. A pitch with both follow-ups is 3 emails, so roughly 29.7 cents. Larger plans cost less per email.
How long before new links affect my rankings?
Expect weeks, not days. Google has to recrawl the page before a new link counts, and ranking changes usually build over a few months as links accumulate. Referral visits often start sooner, because people reading a comparison page or a guide to your problem are already looking for a tool.
Can I choose which posts to pitch, or block certain sites?
Yes. On every plan you see each site the agent considered, competitors you name are never contacted, and you can set a minimum Domain Rating. You can also paste the posts you want pitched, and the agent finds the right person for each, and keep a blocklist of domains it will never contact.
What happens if a link I won is removed later?
You'll know. Each won link is found on the live page, then checked again every week. If it disappears or gets changed to nofollow, it's flagged in your Links view and we email you, so you can follow up with the editor while they still remember the conversation.
Do I have to approve every email?
By default, yes: every pitch waits for you to edit, approve or skip it. You can switch on autopilot on any plan whenever you like. We suggest reviewing pitches for about two weeks first, so the pitch and your positioning are right. On autopilot the agent finds posts, writes pitches, sends the ones that pass the quality check and follows up, within the daily limit, and a daily email shows what went out. You can switch back at any time.
Can agencies run outreach for several client sites?
Yes. The Agency plan covers up to 8 sites. Each site gets its own profile, sender name, mailbox on its own domain, blocklist and link history, so client outreach never mixes. Everything is managed from one login, and won links are logged per site for reporting.
Which sites can't use BacklinkGenie?
We review every site before the agent starts. Gambling, adult content, cannabis and vapes, weapons, crypto schemes, predatory lending, online pharmacies, link sellers and a few other categories are turned away. Health, finance and legal sites get a quick manual review first.
