The most popular YAML editor will do validation of YAML files using JSON schemas. Providing schemas for .condarc and environment.yml should cover the major config formats for Anaconda.
Copied from original issue: DonJayamanne/pythonVSCode#1248
Should make sure this would work with the YAML extension and the YAML Support by Red Hat. The former will just read jsonValidation while the latter wants yamlValidation.

VS Code supports Draft 4 of the JSON schema format. Adding support to the extension is done through
contributes.jsonValidation.The
.condarcfile has docmentation.[-]JSON schema for .condarc and environment.yml files[/-][+]JSON schema for .condarc[/+]brettcannon commentedon Nov 23, 2017
I have split the work up into two issues for each file (
.condarcandenvironment.yml) since they can be done independently.brettcannon commentedon Nov 24, 2017
