Summary

  • Adds device.setFoldState(state) to set the hinge of foldable iOS simulators and Android emulators. state is 'folded' | 'half-open' | 'open' or an angle between 0 and 180.
  • New FoldState type and a setFoldState method on the driver protocol. Both drivers call the device.fold.set RPC.
  • Angles outside 0–180 (including NaN) are rejected before the driver is called.
  • Follows docs/playwright-naming-conventions.md (set prefix, no getter until mobilecli can read the hinge).

Depends on mobile-next/mobilecli#462 (device.fold.set RPC). Merge that one first.

Test plan

  • npm run lint
  • Core unit tests (new Device.setFoldState tests)
  • Run device.setFoldState('half-open') on a foldable emulator with a mobilecli build from #462

Walkthrough

The change adds a FoldState type and a setFoldState method to the session contract and Device API. Device accepts named fold states or numeric angles from 0 through 180, and rejects out-of-range angles and NaN. Both drivers send the state through device.fold.set. The CLI adds a fold command. Tests and documentation are updated.

mobilecli npm 1.0.13 device.fold.set

💡 Result:

I couldn’t find `device.fold.set` in **mobilecli 1.0.13**. That release’s changelog doesn’t mention a fold-control feature, and the documented device commands cover boot, shutdown, and reboot—not folding. ([github.com](https://github.com/mobile-next/mobilecli/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md?utm_source=openai))

If you mean the JSON-RPC method `device.fold.set`, it doesn’t appear to be part of mobilecli’s documented API. ([npmjs.com](https://www.npmjs.com/package/mobilecli?utm_source=openai))

Pin a mobilecli release that implements device.fold.set before enabling this method.

mobilecli@1.0.13 does not register device.fold.set. The default resolver can auto-start that binary, so MobilecliDriver.setFoldState() can receive JSON-RPC -32601 Method not found. Update the dependency and lockfile to a release that registers this method, or gate this operation for the MobilecliDriver path. A remote server is valid only when it provides the method.

Update the mobilecli dependency and lockfile to a release that registers

otherwise, gate this operation for MobilecliDriver and allow it only when the
