Can It Actually Work? Synthesizing Functional CAD Mechanisms
arXiv preprint · 2026
LLM agents design and revise functional CAD mechanisms using candidate-specific physics tests, evaluated across 46 mechanism families in FunCADBench.
I am a Ph.D. student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, working with Weiyang Liu at Sphere Lab.
My research focuses on training and adapting foundation models, especially post-training, parameter-efficient adaptation, and model geometry. I study how models acquire new capabilities while retaining existing ones.
Previously, I worked on 3D vision and generative modeling, including research at NVIDIA. I received my master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Zhejiang University, where I worked with Deng Cai.
New preprint: FunCAD studies how LLM agents design working CAD mechanisms with physics feedback.
New preprint: DepthBench studies how residual connections enable effective computational depth.
