Decision flows
Draw the logic. Call once.
Chain decisions on a canvas: spam check, intent, routing, urgency. Each answer leads to the next question or to an outcome. One request runs the whole flow, and only the questions on the path are billed.

Outcome
—
A replay of real answers from the production model. Only the questions on the path are asked, and billed.
Start from a template
Support inbox triage, comment moderation or lead qualification, then change anything.
Test before you ship
Paste real texts and watch the path light up, with the probability of every answer.
Unsure? Ask a person
Borderline answers take their own branch, so a human sees what the model is not sure about.
Test sets
Measure before you ship.
Upload a few hundred of your own texts with the answers you expect. Run a template, your own wording or a whole flow over them, and see the accuracy, where it goes wrong, and the threshold that fits your data.
A real run: the support_intent template on the 40-ticket sample set, production model. It mixes up “other” with questions.
Your data, not ours
CSV, TSV or JSON Lines, up to 2,000 rows. Two sample sets to start with.
Compare models and wordings
Run Laya and Clef on the same rows in one click, or try your own wording against a template. Keep what wins.
Or classify a backlog
No labels? You still get every answer back as a CSV.
Models
No model wins everywhere.
Laya is fast and cheap on our EU servers. Cloudflare’s open Clef models are slower and cost more, and get far more of the hard questions right. Same API, same answers format: change one field, and measure on your own texts.

| clef | 100% | 1.00 | 380 ms | $0.101 |
Real runs in the console’s test sets: 200 held-out Civil Comments and 20 held-out injection texts. Accuracy at the default 0.5 cut-off; AUC shows how well a model separates the two answers once the threshold is tuned, where Laya leads on toxicity. Small sets: run your own.
Migrate from Jev
One line.
Same /v1/systemone, same question types, answers and errors. The official Jev SDKs work as they are: point them at layahost and use a layahost key.

FAQ
Straight answers.
What counts as a decision? +
One answered question. A call to /v1/decide is one decision; a /v1/systemone request with three questions is three. Rejected or failed requests (4xx, 5xx) are free.
Is it really compatible with Jev? +
Yes for the API: the same /v1/systemone and /v1/models endpoints, request and response shapes, errors and request IDs, tested with the official Python and JavaScript SDKs. Jev model names such as jev-latest are accepted. The model behind it is different, so probabilities are not identical.
Is Laya as accurate as Jev? +
Not on every task. Laya is a small open model, and independent benchmarks put it well behind Jev and the larger decision models on hard questions. That is why layahost also serves Cloudflare's Clef and Clef-flash on the same API. Upload a few hundred of your own texts as a test set and compare the models side by side before you switch production traffic.
Which model should I use? +
The cheapest one that is accurate enough on your texts. Laya answers in about 0.1 s on our EU servers and costs $15 per million decisions; it does well on moderation and simple routing once the threshold is tuned. Clef-flash and Clef run on Cloudflare's GPUs, take 0.4 to 1 s and cost more, but get hard and unusual questions right far more often. A test set run tells you which in a few minutes.
Is there a free tier? +
New accounts get $1 of credit (66.7K decisions) once they verify their email, no card needed. After that, pick a monthly plan (from $9 for 1M decisions) or buy prepaid credit from $10, which buys 666.7K decisions and does not expire while your account is active. The demo on this page is free to try.
Where is my data processed? +
Laya models run on our servers in Helsinki, Finland (EU). Text is processed in memory and never used for training. Logs keep verdicts and metadata for 7 days; request text only if you turn it on. Requests that name a hosted model (clef, clef-flash) are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI, which may be outside the EU and does not use them for training.
Can it replace the Perspective API? +
Yes. Google shuts Perspective down on 31 December 2026, and layahost implements the same comments:analyze call with TOXICITY, INSULT, THREAT and the other attributes. Change the host and the key; see the Perspective migration guide in the docs.
Does layahost work with images? +
No. Like Jev, it decides on text only. For images, send the text you already have about them, such as a caption, alt text or OCR output.
Can I check the accuracy on my own data first? +
Yes. Upload your texts with the answers you expect as a test set in the console, run a template, your own question or a whole flow over them, and you get the accuracy, the mistakes and a suggested threshold. Rows are billed like normal decisions, so a 200-row test costs a fraction of a cent.
Can it find personal data? +
Yes. The pii template returns yes or no, where each name, email, phone number, address, card, IBAN or ID number is, and a redacted copy of the text. It runs a dedicated detector next to Laya and is billed as one decision.
Can you train a model on our data? +
Yes. We fine-tune a private Laya checkpoint on your labelled examples and serve it on the same API under your own model name, visible only to your account. Put your examples in a test set and use Request a custom model in the console, or write to [email protected].
What are the limits? +
600 requests per minute per key by default, up to 32 questions per request and 32,000 characters of text. Need more? Write to [email protected].
Your first decision in five minutes.
Create an account, verify your email for $1 of free credit, copy a key, send one request.
