Summary

Even when combat's sharp edge eventually dulls, Control Resonant is a great addition to the Remedyverse. While its story follows a more standard framework, its gravitational pull is in the inventive world built around it and the humanization that grounds the paranatural intrigue.

Control Resonant Video Review

1 month - Control Resonant reviewed by Michael Higham on PlayStation 5."Control Resonant may not be quite as deep as its RPG mechanics would lead you to believe and gets tedious the later hours, but the responsive stylish-action is foundationally sound, even when its sharp edge eventually dulls. And like most of Remedy’s games, its greatest strengths are the things built around that combat anyway. If anything, the fights are simply a slick vehicle for building up Dylan as a character and funneling you through one of the more inventive open worlds I’ve seen. Surprisingly, this is one of Remedy's most conventional stories, but that doesn't mean it doesn't dare to be bold at times. Control Resonant is a game bolstered by a compilation of powerful moments – from the finer details in its superb world design to the twists that elevate its characters beyond the paranormal happenings that dictate their lives. Collectively, it's hard to escape Control Resonant's gravitational pull."

Phantom Blade Zero Livestream Flooded with 'No Disc No Buy' Comments - IGN Daily Fix

2 months - In today's Daily Fix:Sony's first State of Play livestream since announcing the end of physical disc production went about as well as one might expect. The livestream was for the Sony-published Phantom Blade Zero, and in a gutsy move, comments were left on for both the YouTube and Twitch streams. The chat was filled with comments like 'No Disc No Buy' and similar sentiment from gamers still upset at Sony's decision to stop making physical copies of first-party games in 2028. Despite the fervent pushback, Sony has not announced any plans to change course. In related news, Control: Resonant's physical release has been delayed to October 15th. The digital release will drop as scheduled on September 24th. And finally, industry legend Warren Spector has announced his retirement from game development.
