i finished reading Children of Dune. imo i liked it! it was not a slog, but i definitely felt its length. i was like, so much is happening and i want to read more but there's how much left in the book??? these books are definitely a marathon, not a sprint.

last month I started praying the novena to St. Therese of Lisieux. to those who don't know, that's the one where you pray for a rose from her, and if you get/see a rose then that means your prayers were answered.

well i forgot a day and i was like, dang. i have to start all over again tomorrow. but then later that very day, my boyfriend—who was not yet my boyfriend at the time—gave me a dozen roses.

St. Therese was like, why are you praying for this, your prayers have already been answered.

Happy feast day of the Archangels. Idk if I have a favourite Archangel but St. Michael has the coolest prayer. "St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle..." I still haven't memorised it yet, but that's my goal to do so by the end of the year. i like how at my parish they say it after the daily Mass, but otherwise i hardly pray it. i should change that!!

speaking of Tinashe i have been listening to Popstar. i remember liking Melatonin when it came out as a single (and i still like it) but i think i need to listen to the whole album a bit more, nothing else really stood out to me

watched Diary of a Mad Old Man. another book adaptation. the presenter prefaced it with "this is a weird sexy film" and uh he definitely got the weird part down. i was not prepared at all to watch this film lmao

watched Clarissa. gorgeous film. absolutely great adaptation of Mrs. Dalloway. a bit slow at parts but to be expected. i need to read the book again.

i saw on insta that caroline winkler got married so now i'm catching up on her videos and have i really not watched her videos like 6 months??? that can't be right. anyway now i want to redecorate my bedroom

i finally wake up on time to get ready for work and then my brother beats me to the washroom lmao

for the first time in a long time, i stayed in bed past noon. 11pm showings of 3 hour movies should be forbidden. that's on us tho, we wanted to see the odyssey in IMAX and options were limited. thank goodness for the long weekend
