This page tells you everything you need to know about how the Devoteam Group and/or its affiliates, subsidiaries and newly acquired companies (“Devoteam”; “we”) protect the personal data we process as well as the rights you have with regard to such processing.

Our commitments

Devoteam Group is committed to ensuring the highest level of protection for your personal data in compliance with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Your personal data is collected and processed in compliance with the applicable legal framework. For any information on personal data protection, please contact de.datenschutz@devoteam.com.

Devoteam Group Personal Data Protection Policy

Furthermore, Devoteam Group implements a policy on the protection of personal data that incorporates the principles from the legal framework described above :

  • explicit and legitimate purpose ;
  • relevance and proportionality of the data collected ;
  • limited data retention period ;
  • data security and confidentiality ;
  • respect for the rights of individuals.

Purpose of processing your personal data

Data related to your recruitment is processed by the Devoteam Group entity reviewing your application, as identified in the job posting or application process, as the data controller. This processing occurs in the context of direct applications, unsolicited applications, referrals, or active prospecting of candidates by Devoteam.

Your data is processed solely to enable us to select candidates and recruit our future employees. More specifically, it allows for:

  • managing your candidate profile and your applications ;
  • offering you opportunities for available positions that match your skills and career aspirations ;
  • inviting you to participate in events organized by Devoteam Group as part of its recruitment campaigns.

Your application may be processed using artificial intelligence technology to help us analyse it and assess the match between your profile and the position. When used, this tool assists our recruiters, but the final decision is always made by a human. No decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means. To learn more about the use of your data and your rights, please see our Privacy Policy.

The legal bases for this processing are, as applicable, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 BDSG for recruitment decisions, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR for compliance with legal obligations, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for legitimate recruitment interests such as referrals and prospecting, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where consent is requested, and Article 9(2) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26(3) BDSG for special categories of data where permitted.

Personal data processed

The information processed may be collected in different ways:

  • Directly from you in the case of direct applications to offers or unsolicited applications.
  • Indirectly through transmission to Devoteam, when the data has been collected through referrals, by partners (job sites), or via professional networks (e.g., LinkedIn).

In the latter case, it is specified that Devoteam is not responsible for the personal data processing carried out by these third parties. These potential treatments arise from your independent relationship with the third party or parties concerned.

This data allows Devoteam to know: your identity, your contact details, your educational background, your professional career, your motivations, and interests.

The data collected from you may be supplemented by the exchanges and interactions you have had with Devoteam during your recruitment process.

As part of our recruitment policy, we respect the principles of relevance and minimization when collecting your data.

Certain information necessary to comply with legal obligations in labor law is also collected, particularly in the context of establishing the employment contract. If the data in question is not provided or if the data subject objects to its processing, the recruitment cannot be completed. Mandatory information will be identified as such; failure to provide it may prevent Devoteam from considering or completing the application, and other information is voluntary.

Retention and access to your data

Personal data processed is subject to limited retention. It is kept for a maximum of six (6) months following the last contact with you or, failing that, following your application, in accordance with Section 15(4) AGG and Section 26 BDSG.

In the event that you are prospected for job offers, Devoteam undertakes to inform you of the collection of your data without delay, and to give you the opportunity to object if you so choose. Otherwise, the retention conditions are identical to those expressed previously.

Access to your data

Your data may be shared with entities of the Devoteam Group (within the same country). Access to your data is limited to authorized personnel at the relevant Devoteam Group entities; including authorized Human Resources personnel, managers and sales profiles for the applications that concern them, IT administrators, as well as authorized service providers. It is not disclosed to third parties except to authorized service providers acting on Devoteam’s behalf as described below.

Below is the list of subcontractors likely to participate in the recruitment process:

  • A provider offering a collaborative sourcing and talent pool management platform ;
  • A provider for conducting personality assessment and technical tests ;
  • Any other service provider of the Devoteam Group contributing to its recruitment process.

When a subcontractor acts on our behalf, we ensure that transfers or exchanges are limited to what is necessary and are carried out in compliance with the authorized processing purposes, providing all appropriate guarantees for the protection of personal data. If personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, Devoteam will ensure appropriate safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses, where required by GDPR.

You also have the right to request information about the use of AI-assisted processing in the recruitment process and, where applicable under data protection law, to obtain human intervention, express your point of view, and contest a decision.
