Ping Hu is a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and an affiliated faculty member at VinUniversity. His research centers on generalizable visual intelligence, spanning open-world scene understanding, multimodal and vision-language learning, and 3D spatial perception. His work aims to develop robust and adaptive visual intelligence systems that can perceive, understand, and generalize in complex real-world environments. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Boston University and was subsequently a Postdoctoral Associate there before joining UESTC. He is an IEEE Senior Member and serves as an Associate Editor of Pattern Recognition and ACM Computing Surveys. He has served in senior program roles for major international conferences in artificial intelligence and computer vision, including Technical Program Chair for BMVC 2026, and Area Chair for CVPR/NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/IJCAI/ACMMM/etc.
