Error: Java setup process failed due to: Invalid Version: 17.0.8.1+1080.1

We've been able to reproduce the issue on our side as well. We're currently reviewing and validating the proposed fix to ensure it works correctly across supported environments and doesn't introduce any regressions.

Hi @sproctor, the PR #1009 has now been merged. To use this change immediately, you can use actions/setup-java@main in your workflows for now, and it will be included in an upcoming release.
