TS Server crashes for untitled files

Creating a new javascript or typescript file results in the following error:

The TypeScript language service died 5 times right after it got started. The service will not be restarted.

Setup:

• VSCode Version: 1.40.1
• OS Version: Linux x64 4.19.0-6-amd64 (Debian 10)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new file
2. Switch language to javascript or typescript

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes
Does this issue occur when using the latest insider build?: Yes

Possible duplicate of #84826, but in my case the TypeScript language service works for regular files.

Are you sure this repos in the insiders build when using TypeScript 3.7.3-insiders?

The issue does not occure in insiders build, after manually running npm i typescript@3.7.3-insiders.20191123.

After Updating to VSCode 1.41.1 with TypeScript 3.7.3 this issue still occurs.

After updating to VS Code 1.41.1 this issue seems to be fixed.
