PocketWise doesn’t need your data to work, so it doesn’t take it. Receipt scanning happens entirely on your device — no image or extracted text is ever sent to a server.
There’s no account to create, no cloud sign-in, and no bank connection. Every subscription, price change, and usage log lives in a local database on your phone, and it never leaves it.
Delete an entry and it’s gone for good — there’s no server-side copy to restore it from. Export a CSV or PDF whenever you want a copy of your own data outside the app.

Yes. Everything you track is stored locally on your device in an encrypted local database. There’s no account, no cloud sign-in, and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
02 Does receipt scanning send my photos anywhere?
No. Scanning happens entirely on your device using built-in OCR. No image or extracted text is ever transmitted off your phone.
03 Do I need to pay every month?
No. PocketWise has no subscription plan and no recurring fee. It’s either free, or a single one-time purchase for Lifetime — pay once and it’s yours for good.
04 What's the difference between Free and Lifetime?
Free covers the essentials — up to 5 subscriptions, tracked manually, with reminders and spend totals. Lifetime removes the entry limit and adds receipt scanning, forecasting, tags, multi-currency, export, household splitting, and widgets, all for one payment.
05 What happens if I hit the Free plan's limit?
Nothing is deleted or hidden. Your existing subscriptions stay fully visible and editable — you just won’t be able to add a 6th until you remove one or upgrade to Lifetime.
06 Can I edit or delete a subscription I added by mistake?
Yes, at any tier. You always have full edit and delete control over your own entries — that’s never limited to a paid plan.
