About Pathways
No company, big or small, should stand alone in the fight against online child sexual abuse (OSCEA).
Pathways is a free program designed to help tech companies — especially startups and small-to-medium-sized platforms — build and improve their child safety programs.
Whether or not your company intends to apply for membership in the future, Pathways gives your team access to expert guidance, practical tools, and opportunities to connect with others tackling OCSEA.
Who is Pathways for?
Pathways is open to employees of tech companies that host or provide access to user-generated content or communications.
The program is not open to vendors or service providers that do not manage user content.
There is no cost to join. Instead, participants invest their time and commitment to using the resources provided.

- Reporting OCSEA to the National Center of
Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) - Combating new harms like financial sextortion

Opportunity to apply for a PhotoDNA sublicense:
As a sublicensor of Microsoft’s PhotoDNA hashing system, the Tech Coalition provides free access to this critical detection technology for eligible companies worldwide.
Through Pathways, companies can apply for a PhotoDNA sublicense and access guidance and resources that help strengthen their image-based detection capabilities

What do participants receive through Pathways?
Pathways provides access to expert guidance, practical resources, and peer learning opportunities that help companies strengthen child safety practices and build effective safeguards.
Is Pathways the same thing as Tech Coalition Membership?
No. Pathways is a separate program designed for companies that are not currently Tech Coalition members. Participation in Pathways does not require or guarantee future membership, though some companies have used the program to strengthen their child safety practices before joining the Tech Coalition.
Is there a limit to how many people per company can apply for Pathways?
Multiple employees from eligible companies can apply for Pathways. In fact, we encourage any team member who builds or strengthens child safety safeguards at their company to sign up individually
