The SWEET Directory makes it easier than ever to find organisations that help people overcome barriers to education, employment and training opportunities.
We all have aspirations – whether we achieve them or not shouldn’t be determined by postcode.
The SWEET Directory’s map function provides a clear geographical representation of where services exist.
When you’re caught up in service delivery, or focus on a specific sector, it can be hard to see outside of your own organisation.
The SWEET Directory provides the ability for individuals and organisations to create connections on a local level, allowing for partnership and referral opportunities.
But we can choose whether or not we do something about socio-economic barriers that prevent people from accessing opportunities and contribute to the NEET crisis (you can follow the Milburn Review findings here).
The SWEET Directory is designed to showcase and signpost the valuable work of organisations that are on the front line making a difference in their communities.
In doing so, the aim is to increase their ability to connect to the people they want to help, and the supporters they need to attract.
The idea for this resource came from our creator’s experience of upward social mobility as a solo and sometimes challenging journey which revealed just how wide the opportunity gap can be. You can read some of her thoughts in the blog posts below.
