The NYC pied-à-terre tax is a great way to audit NY state residency, so it’s no surprise they send notices far and wide. Say your home is not a pied-à-terre and they’ll expect a tax return. Say it is and you’ll have to pay the tax.

Feels like golf would be much more popular if it was 12 holes instead of 18. Put the turn at 6 and bring us home. I’d play a lot more often I think. 18 holes just takes too long, and is also just less fun.

“Some startups will fail, therefore the whole category is fake” is midmaxxing. Investors take risk, some companies fail, some win big, and the country ends up with more factories, engineers, suppliers, and defense capacity. Truly a national tragedy.

Fun fact: in the Pentagon there is a secret unit responsible for marking up questionable defense startups. Hence, everyone thinks they can make money in the casino. In a few years, this will result in no investment returns but a fully funded defence industrial base.
