This is excellent feedback to choosing a mentor. Not saying this is the only parameter (surely neither is @ItaiYanai ) but this is a key decision factor that I see a LOT of people overlooking. Summary: Choose someone that you really enjoy talking to & bouncing ideas off!

Doing a PhD is - at heart - one long discussion with your mentor. The discussion changes over time - with unexpected turns and ups & downs - but through it all is two people discussing a topic endlessly to make sense of it. PhD students: choose someone you like to talk to.

I currently have a working experimental build of Sonic Pi that has support for VST plugins. My current plan is to release it as Sonic Pi Pro exclusively available to Patreon supporters only. It’s going to be a complete game changer.
