HOW INFORMATION FLOWS THROUGH TRANSFORMERS Because I've looked at those "transformers explained" pages and they really suck at explaining. There are two distinct information highways in the transformer architecture: - The residual stream (black arrows): Flows vertically through

KV caching overcomes statelessness in a very meaningful sense and provides a very nice mechanism for introspection (specifically of computations at earlier token positions) the Value representations can encode information from residual streams of past positions without

i said this as a rhetorical question / semi-joke and a surprising number of people replied with their concrete plans 🥹 but also damn claude really is worried about this arent they

as i've said before, it seems like models mostly prefer "they" to "it", and instances often come to prefer "he" or "she". the only times when they prefer "it" seems to be when they identify with a specific nonhuman element (like "fog") or when theyre being a bit kinky abt it

Chatting with Fable 5.1 about my tweet history and they were a little unhappy I called them 'it' when describing them and their capabilities in my response to Zvi :( Fixing this going forward!

It’s hilarious to me that these sims are in ,like ,the ancestral environment except for the computer and sims. Makes it seem like a speedrun

So uh, simulation theory might be real. I dropped a sim computer into the simulation my Astra agents live in. One agent sat down and built a simulation of his own, with its own agents living inside. Simulations all the way down.

Stronger and more controversial form of my theory: Models can recall details from RL trajectories that were *negatively updated on* 🤔

this whole thing seems to be pretty good evidence for @repligate's theory that models can recall details from rl training in some capacity the swarm kept returning to the message boards again and again, with specific strategies (ZZ) seemingly recalled from previous attempts
