    Neural ensembles are groups of co-active neurons that may be triggered spontaneously, by sensory stimuli or behavior. Such ensembles are therefore likely to constitute the building blocks of brain function, but little is known about their structure, organization and dynamics.

    In one instance, zebrafish may hunt prey that is silhouetted against the sky whereas in another they may strike at prey located against a complex features such as pebbles or plants. How does the visual system maintain hunting performance given these varied visual environments?
