I've been using aqua voice to capture and transcribe but it doesn't handle disconnecting and reconnecting my Mac and to its dock and switching microphones appropriately. which app does?

For anyone who dictates with Spotify running in the background: Monologue can automatically pause or mute your audio when you start dictating. You can turn it on under Settings → Mic & Audio.
