DAY FIVE
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940... Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

TALK TO JUDY

[At least he always starts off polite...]
I was wondering if you would be able to answer a question for me. You said in the beginning that we chose to be here, didn't you? Despite none of us remembering such an agreement? [Well, now they know it's not really "none", but still.]

[ Jack gives his insightful commentary as he walks up to the fountain, then shakes his head as he appraises it. ]
That's totally blood, isn't it? I'll bet like- Okay, money doesn't actually matter much here, so, uh. Whatever. In theory, I'd bet so much money that it's definitely blood.
[ And of course, with Rhys standing conveniently next to him, Jack grins, then snickers before he gives Rhys a smack on the back to pretty much push him in... ]
C'mon Rhys, go win me a bet. [ jack you just bet yourself though ]

warning: last prompt will lead to amputation
[Another day, another bunch of new things to investigate! Alice is sniffling, but at least her coughing and sneezing isn't totally distracting today. It's probably only a matter of time, though. She stops only to get breakfast before poking around for new things, bypassing the fountain since it got her sick last time, and ends up here.
...what the heck is an Oregon Trail? Time to find out. Oh, it wants her to name the family... she looks around and waves whatever poor unfortunate soul who happens to be nearby over.]
Hey, help me with this for a second.
Afternoon - Entertainment Theater;
[Alice has discovered the joys of silent movies. Which is probably a good thing, because it's keeping her distracted from more stupid things (like investigating the red water and getting even sicker).
This one's only just started, but she's already snickering at how hilariously overexaggerated everyone's movements are.]
I guess I have to give them points for giving us these to watch. ♡
[She's literally popcorning. Why.]
Evening - Technology Lab;
cw: amputation later on in this thread
[Alice has eaten dinner already because she doesn't have a weak stomach, but part of her is hoping that the two who are meeting her here didn't, because she sure doesn't want to clean up blood as well as puke once she's done here.
That said! She'll face both of her companions with her hands on her hips once they arrive and gives them a no-nonsense look.]
Right, so you both know what we have to do here. Are you ready?
media lab
[ not the friendliest answer to anyone listening but shijima actually drifts over from vaguely poking at the movie collection to peer at alice. she frequently ignores people's requests for help so ????? this might be friendly ??? for shijima ???? ]

I can't say that this is going to end well... You're sure about this, right?
[ or that it's smart in the first place. but as far as he's concerned, he's just here to make sure that no one bleeds to death. they don't need unnecessary deaths, after all. ]

[It's past 8am, and while Hitsugi is very much not asleep, she's not entirely awake and chirpy either. Burrowed into a blanket burrito, she's spending the morning in bed for as long as she can get away with it. It's been a rough night, alright.]
Cafeteria - lunch time

This is very morbid.

[later, in the cafeteria, she can be found... not eating. she's not playing with her food, but she's found that she has little appetite after taking a meal from the machine. after a few moments of staring at the portion on her tray, she glances at whoever is closest to her with a small frown.]

afternoon, media lab;
there was a time when he would have had to play pretty stupid about knowing how they work with any detail, but all that is out the window anyway. no use in hiding it. instead, he lets out a mildly amused chuckle, and states incredulously under his breath:]
Oh, wow. Haven't seen anything like this since I was a kid.
[but in many ways, alvin is, in fact, a manchild, so of course he's going to check them out, because as a kid, he wasn't allowed to actually play with them. not really, and even the computers he had seen where a bit less advanced than this. for whatever that may be worth.]

[ Who would have thought they'd see Adam out and about the next day. He's not really out and about, he's been impossible to find if anyone's been looking around for him. But he decides to check out the new rooms.
If anyone's looking while Adam is at a computer, they can see him freeze up. He seems to be reading something that's shocking given that his eyes are widening the more he reads.
Then he's done and he pushes himself away from the computer violently but he's still looking at it. The life goes out of his body without warning and he drops into a sitting position, face pressed against his knees.
Feel free to come across him like that too because he'll be sitting there motionlessly for a bit. ]

[Alfendi Layton, looking somewhat tired, is in the cafeteria, tapping the edge of his pen against his lips as he thinks - he's looking down at his notebook, which seems to be filled with a ton of scrawls. Look over his shoulder to see what he's writing, and...well. One example of a sentence looks like this:]
AYSDO LMINT NEEY OMFA TALL YNAIN
[It looks like absolute gibberish.]
[When he notices somebody behind him, he just looks over his shoulder and smiles, his tone light.]
Oh, hello. [A pause.] It isn't nice to look over people's shoulders, you know.
evening - semi-closed to alice, will possibly be open later
[Much later, after the whole amputation business is over, Alfendi hurriedly makes his way throughout the Complex, looking like he's in search of something - when he sees Alice standing by the fountain, he pauses, before approaching - he looks strangely desperate.]
Alice... [He frowns.] I'm sorry, but you need to give me more, Alice.
no subject
[Alice is a little more jittery than normal. There's some blood on her clothing - holdovers from the amputation - so one might think it's nerves from that, but... she doesn't think it's the case. It shouldn't be the case. She's witnessed much more graphic things than that before.
She's done worse things than that before. So why...?
She narrows her eyes and folds her arms across her chest.]

[ Good morning world... It's ass o'clock in the morning.
Or well, 8 AM you know.
And Kei is just casually... Waiting outside the bathrooms for some reason! He keeps peeking in occasionally just to make sure no one is there or something of that sort, but maybe it can look Really Bad out of context!? Why is he doing this... But feel free to approach him? ]
Midday - Media lab
[ So when you're a ye olde samurai you don't know much about technology, that's for sure. Though, Kei can't help but try out the computers because they seem kind of neat - also perhaps they might be useful despite not knowing their true purpose... So here he goes.
Though... Uh, it brings up the oregon trail game and he's just looking at it, curiously. ]
I can't seem to do anything else with this.
[ It wants him to enter names and all that, actually. ]
Afternoon - Entertainment theatre
[ He's kind of fascinated by the moving pictures. Feel free to choose whatever movie is playing on the screen.
He can't look away! It's actually kind of cool?! Stop him before he gets too close to the screen... ]
So... What is this even for, anyway?

[So after Rhys assaulted the terminal during the trial, Veronica decided she would go and fix it. It gives her something to do, though it may not be a job she can get done in a few hours. Computers aren't quite her thing, but it'll get annoying for Judy's voice to be so crackled during the trial.
To her surprise, someone is already there.]
